Documentary Family Photography in Taipei: A Family's Last Days Before Moving Home

Quite often, families become interested in documentary family photography when they’re about to leave Taipei. Knowing that life is about to change in a BIG way helps us to appreciate what our ordinary routines look like right now and makes us want to preserve the story so we can look back on it later. What previously seemed mundane, even boring, looks different when you know that it’s ending.

I love being able to document a family’s life before they leave Taiwan because whatever the routine looks like, it’s been crafted intentionally and with love. If I can play a small part in helping them to remember this fleeting time when they were on this international adventure together, then I’m happy. One thing I want to tell everyone, though, is this: No matter where you’re living, everything changes all the time. Even if you aren’t about to do a big international move, this phase (breastfeeding, potty training, reading a million stories before bed) will end. Everything is worth documenting right now. If you’d like me to come in to witness and document what you’ve built with your family in Taiwan, I’m ready to help you tell that story.

The photos below are from a session with a lovely family who are saying goodbye to the beautiful life that they’ve built in Taiwan. On to the next adventure!
