Saying Goodbye to Taipei | A Documentary Family Photography Session at Home and Tienmu Sports Park

Families often want to arrange a documentary family photography session when it’s almost time to leave Taipei. While many people like more traditional, posed family photoshoots, when people realize that documentary family photography allows them to capture the details of their life story in Taiwan—their favorite gelato shop, their regular convenience store stop, the park they go to after school—it becomes important to them to document their time here before it’s too late.

I’ve worked with several AIT families and documented their family story in Taiwan before they move on to their next assignment, and it’s always a joy for me to witness what they’ve built here (and I believe it’s a joy for people to be witnessed). The photos below are from a recent 2-hour documentary family photography session that took place both in their Tienmu home and their favorite neighborhood spots. It’s amazing how a slice of life can be captured in 2 hours!
