Birth Photography at Loving Care Birth Center in New Taipei City

Maternity photography and newborn photography sessions are mainstream now, but what about the beautiful story that takes place in between those two stages? Many people still think birth photography is a bit weird, but I’d argue that documenting the birth of a child is just as important as documenting a wedding day.

The moment your child enters your life and takes their first breath is life-altering—it will never happen again. Blink your eyes once and your baby has already changed at an alarming rate (or so it seems). I remember very little from my own two births and would give anything to have more than just one grainy cell phone image of me meeting my son for the first time.

Do I wish I had photos of my baby crowning and covered in blood? Not really, and that’s fine. Birth photography doesn’t have to be about those kinds of images if that’s not your thing. Birth photography is a love story; it’s a woman in her power story; it’s the story of a new beginning. It’s a story that I never get tired of witnessing or documenting.

Below is a slideshow of a recent birth story that I captured at Loving Care Birth Center in New Taipei City. This is a story about patience and partnership like nothing else I’ve seen, and I’m grateful to this family for allowing me to share it.
